The new BMW M2 CS is not just an extra-fast M2. It is the most purist, most focused, most analogue interpretation of BMW's compact sports coupe since the M2 has existed. A limited edition, built in San Luis Potosí (Mexico), developed with insights from the M2 Racing, and aimed at one thing: maximum driving intensity, on the track and on the public road.
Where the standard M2 is already an unfiltered sensation, the M2 CS goes a level higher: more power, less weight, a sharper chassis, exclusive carbon finishing and a driving experience that enters your nervous system without any intermediate steps.
530 hp, rear-wheel drive, pure M energy
In the M2 CS BMW's legendary 3.0 straight-six with M TwinPower Turbo gets a new lease of life:
530 hp (up 50 hp on the M2)
650 Nm (up 50 Nm)
0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 s
302 km/h top speed (with the standard M Driver's Package)
It is exactly the same power output as an M3/M4 Competition xDrive, but packaged in a shorter, lighter and wilder rear-wheel-drive chassis. The result is a compact M that, in terms of sensations, comes closer to a GT3 experience than to an everyday sports coupe.
The engine responds more fiercely thanks to revised mapping, a more aggressive throttle response and a rev range that, as ever, climbs eagerly to 7,200 rpm. The M exhaust system with variable flaps and four matte black tailpipes delivers a mechanical, racy soundtrack that perfectly suits the character of the car.
Weight reduction: 30 kilograms less, 100% more focus
The M2 CS puts roughly 30 kg less on the scales thanks to:
Carbon roof
Carbon diffuser, boot lid (ducktail), mirror caps and additional CFRP panels
Lightweight centre console in CFRP
Forged M wheels (19 inch front, 20 inch rear)
The result? Quicker reactions, more feedback, less inertia, more precision. That makes the M2 CS not only feel faster, it is faster.
Chassis: built for lap times
BMW M has completely recalibrated the chassis:
8 mm lower than the M2
Specific springs, dampers and chassis software
M Servotronic steering with a sharper feel and better feedback
M Sport differential with revised locking characteristics
Adaptive M Suspension as standard, but fully CS-tuned
The brakes are ready for track abuse too:
Standard M Compound brakes
Optional M Carbon Ceramic for maximum fade resistance
The standard track tyres (275/35 ZR19 and 285/30 ZR20) and the exclusive gold-bronze M wheels give the M2 CS that typical circuit-ready look.
Design: carbon, sharpness and exclusivity
The exterior of the M2 CS is pure M language, but in its most competitive form:
Carbon roof and boot lid with integrated ducktail
Carbon diffuser and M Carbon mirror caps
Matte black M grille with new air intakes
Exclusive colours:
Sapphire Black
Individual Velvet Blue
M Brooklyn Grey
M Portimao Blue
Everything is functional, nothing is superfluous. Every panel breathes motorsport.
Interior: a compact, hardcore M cockpit
Inside, the M2 CS is a mix of Alcantara, carbon, technology and racing intent:
M Carbon bucket seats (heated, electrically adjustable, prepared for harnesses)
Alcantara M steering wheel with red 12 o'clock marker and M buttons
Carbon on the instrument panel and centre console
Unique CS details: red CS badges, illuminated CS door sills, Merino leather finishing
Digitally you get OS 8.5, M-specific displays, M Drift Analyzer, M Laptimer and all the modern assistance you want, or precisely do not want, on the track.
Faster, harder, rawer, better
Why does the M2 CS feel so much more intense than the standard M2?
More direct engine mounts, meaning less filtering and more mechanical connection.
Reworked DSC and MDM settings, meaning more slip, more control, more freedom.
M Traction Control with 10 stages, from mild to full attack.
Drivelogic with three modes, from tidy daily usability to pure track shift behaviour.
The result: a car that does not correct you but invites you. A car that rewards you when you dare.
A car that is ready for track days yet also lives perfectly on Sunday-morning drives.
The essence
The BMW M2 CS is the ultimate modern BMW M2:
lighter, faster, sharper, louder, more mechanical and more uncompromising.
A compact powerhouse that sums up all the qualities of BMW M: rear-wheel drive, high-revving character, carbon components, precision and a driving feel that is rare in the world of 2025.
