BYD SEAL

The BYD SEAL is not just another electric saloon. This is BYD at full strength: a fully electric sports saloon that brings design, performance and technology together in one taut package. Built on the advanced e-Platform 3.0 and, as the first BYD in Europe, equipped with Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, the SEAL immediately sets a new benchmark for safety, driving experience and efficiency.

Design: Ocean Aesthetics with a sporting edge

The SEAL is the second European model from BYD's Ocean Series, and you can see it straight away. The silhouette is low and muscular, with flowing lines that suggest movement and speed even when it is standing still. The coupe-like roofline, the subtle ducktail and the flush door handles provide not only presence but also exceptional aerodynamics. With a drag coefficient of just 0.219, the SEAL cuts through the air efficiently, something you feel both in consumption and in stability at higher speeds.

Cell-to-Body: the reason the SEAL drives differently

What truly sets the BYD SEAL apart sits beneath the bodywork. Thanks to Cell-to-Body technology the battery forms a structural part of the car. That delivers exceptional torsional rigidity (40,500 Nm/degree), a lower centre of gravity and a particularly solid driving feel.

The result? A saloon that steers precisely, feels quiet and at the same time remains surprisingly comfortable, even on long journeys.

Blade Battery: safety without compromise

Like every BYD, the SEAL is fitted with the cobalt-free Blade Battery (LFP). This battery is known for its thermal stability, long service life and exceptional safety. It even passes the notorious nail penetration test, one of the toughest safety tests in the industry. Thanks to its compact construction the battery also contributes to extra cabin space and a lower centre of gravity.

Performance and range: choose your character

The BYD SEAL is available with two drivetrains, each with an 82.5 kWh Blade Battery and a clearly distinct personality:

• SEAL Design (RWD)
  Rear-wheel drive with 313 hp, a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.9 s and a WLTP range of up to 570 km.

• SEAL Excellence (AWD)
  All-wheel drive with 530 hp, 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 s and a WLTP range of up to 520 km.

Both versions combine impressive performance with mature efficiency, without making you feel you constantly have to drive it hard.

Charging and daily use

The SEAL is fully attuned to European reality:

• 11 kW AC charging (three-phase) as standard

• DC fast charging up to 150 kW

• 30 to 80% charge in 26 minutes

Thanks to smart charging technology the charging speed remains stable and reliable, even at higher power levels.

Interior: high-tech lounge with space

Despite its sporty line the SEAL remains a fully fledged five-seater. The long 2,920 mm wheelbase provides plenty of legroom, while the low floor creates extra headroom. The finish is premium, with soft materials, a panoramic roof and excellent sound insulation. It is practical too:

• 400-litre boot

• 53-litre frunk

• Wireless charging for two smartphones

Infotainment and safety

At the centre of the interior sits the 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, complemented by a digital instrument panel and OTA updates. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and intelligent voice control are all standard.

On the safety front BYD leaves nothing out: adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist, blind-spot detection and a 360-degree camera are all part of the standard equipment.
