The new Mercedes-Benz GLB has not simply evolved, it has been redefined. More space, more intelligence, more character. An SUV that embraces its practical roots while carrying out a digital and design revolution that puts it closer to the EQE class than to any compact rival.

The GLB (with EQ Technology) is now a fully fledged 5- or 7-seater, designed as the premium answer to every conceivable family situation, road trip, caravan holiday or spontaneous weekend away. It is luxury, utility and high-tech all at once, in one model that covers up to 631 km WLTP on electricity alone.

Design: an SUV with charisma, presence and brand identity

The GLB radiates more maturity than ever. A tall, powerful front end, shorter overhangs, broader shoulders and flush-mounted wheels give it an almost G-Class attitude, translated into the future.

The iconic grille is an absolute eye-catcher: 94 individually illuminated LED stars create a high-tech, almost jewel-like front. Depending on the market, even the central Mercedes star lights up. The new light signature, with more vertical, more technical lines, makes the GLB visibly unique within the Entry Luxury family.

The silhouette remains strongly SUV: a steep windscreen, muscular wheel arches, protective off-road elements and a roofline that, thanks to the standard panoramic roof, gives more sense of space than ever.

An optional SKY CONTROL panoramic roof can switch from transparent to frosted glass with a single tap, a unique feature that creates a spectacular light experience at night with 158 subtly integrated interior stars.

Interior: an architectural lounge, dominated by the new MBUX Superscreen

Inside you immediately feel that Mercedes has ushered in a new generation. The cockpit revolves around one hero element: the MBUX Superscreen (optional). Three displays (10.25 inch for the driver and two 14-inch screens in the centre and for the passenger) sit beneath a single pane of glass that hangs in the interior like a floating panel.

The whole is complemented by a high-set centre console, extra storage and a completely newly designed steering wheel with physical controls for the limiter, DISTRONIC and volume, a deliberate nod to ergonomics and ease of use.

Materials once again show the Mercedes obsession with detail: soft plastics, technical fabrics, aluminium accents, ambient lighting with 11 ambient themes and sustainable upholsteries that form part of Mercedes' Greenovation strategy.

Space: the GLB remains the king of practicality

Where most compact premium SUVs stop, the GLB is only getting started. It remains unique as an electric 7-seater in its segment, with a surprising amount of usable space:

  • Largest-in-class frunk: 127 litres

  • Rear boot: 540 litres (5-seater) / 480 litres (7-seater)

  • Maximum load space: 1,715 litres

The second row offers more legroom and a longer seat cushion for extra comfort. The third row is ideal for children or occasional adult passengers. There are also four child-seat anchorages spread across rows 2 and 3; hardly anyone does this better.

Driving and performance: electric comfort, long legs and real towing ability

The new GLB is built on an 800-volt architecture. That means high-end efficiency, top performance and ultra-fast charging.

GLB 250+ (272 hp)

  • up to 631 km WLTP, best in class

  • Easily covers long stretches without a charging stop

  • Comfort-oriented, extremely quiet, remarkably efficient

GLB 350 4MATIC (354 hp)

  • Dual-motor performance

  • The drive engages the front axle in a flash for immediate grip

  • Including TERRAIN MODE plus Transparent Bonnet for off-road situations

Charging

  • up to 260 km in 10 minutes at 800 volts

  • up to 320 kW DC

  • up to 22 kW AC

Towing capacity

  • up to 2,000 kg (unique in the BEV segment)

  • 100 kg nose weight: perfect for e-bikes or fully packed trailers

Technology: MB.OS, generative AI and a Virtual Assistant that really understands you

The GLB launches with MB.OS, Mercedes' fully in-house developed operating system. It is the basis for:

  • OTA updates that guarantee years of technological renewal

  • A new MBUX Virtual Assistant with generative AI (ChatGPT 4o plus Microsoft Bing plus Google Gemini)

  • Smart, context-rich conversations: from route planning to recommendations

  • Google Maps navigation as the native platform

  • MBUX Surround Navigation: real-time integration between ADAS imaging and route display

The car learns, remembers and personalises. This is without doubt the most intelligent GLB ever.

Safety: new generation of MB.DRIVE

Mercedes bundles all driver assistance systems under one name: MB.DRIVE. The GLB combines 8 cameras, 5 radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a water-cooled supercomputer that is ready for future functions.

Examples:

  • DISTRONIC as standard

  • Lane Assist and Lane Change Assist

  • 360-degree camera

  • Predictive cruise functions

  • Proactive occupant protection
