Volvo EX40

The Volvo EX40 was already one of the most accessible premium electric SUVs on the market, but with the latest technical update Volvo takes another big step forward. More range, faster charging and the introduction of rear-wheel drive make the EX40 an even more complete package.

Just as with the EC40, Volvo resolutely opts for more efficient drivetrains. The Single Motor version with the 69 kWh battery now achieves up to 460 km WLTP, while the Extended Range variant with the 82 kWh battery goes as far as 515 km WLTP. Thanks to a charging speed of up to 200 kW DC, long-distance use is perfectly feasible too, with 10 to 80% charging in around 28 minutes.

For those looking for maximum grip and performance there is the Twin Motor AWD. This updated four-wheel drive combines a powerful rear electric motor with an efficient asynchronous motor at the front. The result: up to 500 km WLTP, strong acceleration and extra stability in all conditions.

The design of the EX40 remains recognisable and robust, but subtle updates such as aerodynamically optimised wheels contribute to extra efficiency. Inside you find the familiar Volvo interior: high-quality, clearly laid out and equipped with the Google infotainment system, digital cockpit and extensive driver assistance systems.

Safety remains, as always at Volvo, an absolute priority. The EX40 is equipped with a full package of active and passive safety systems and ranks among the safest cars in its segment.
