The Fully Electric Porsche Cayenne
Porsche has done it again. The Cayenne, the model that redrew the brand's foundations in 2002, now ushers in a new era: fully electric, insanely fast, ridiculously capable and technologically so advanced it almost seems unfair.
This is the Cayenne Electric, up to 850 kW (1,156 hp), 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, up to 400 kW charging power and a WLTP range of up to 642 km. And yes: it is officially the most powerful production Porsche ever built.
Porsche kicks off with two variants:
Cayenne Electric
300 kW (408 hp)
0-100 km/h: 4.8 s
Top speed: 230 km/h
WLTP range: up to 642 km
Cayenne Turbo Electric
Up to 850 kW (1,156 hp) with Launch Control
1,500 Nm of torque
0-100 km/h: 2.5 s
0-200 km/h: 7.4 s
Top speed: 260 km/h
Range of up to 623 km
All of this thanks to a completely newly developed drivetrain with a direct-oil-cooled electric motor on the rear axle, a technology taken straight from motorsport.
With the Push-to-Pass function, the Turbo gets another 130 kW extra for 10 seconds. Because why not?
Formula E-level recuperation: up to 600 kW recovery
Porsche claims that up to 97% of all braking actions are handled entirely by the electric motors, the mechanical brakes barely come into play. The Turbo model can optionally even be fitted with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
Chassis technology from another world
Standard: Adaptive Air Suspension + PASM
Turbo: PTV Plus and optional Active Ride
Optional: four-wheel steering (up to 5 degrees)
Active Ride, a system that almost completely eliminates body movement, turns the Cayenne Electric into an SUV that drives both sportier and more comfortably than any combustion variant ever.
Charging: faster than the market can currently handle
The Cayenne gets a 113 kWh battery with dual cooling and 800-volt technology.
DC charging up to 390 kW (and up to 400 kW under certain conditions)
10% → 80% in under 16 minutes
Up to 325 km of range added in 10 minutes
And for the first time in a Porsche you can also charge inductively (up to 11 kW): park over the charging pad, done.
Design: recognisably Cayenne, but 2025-proof
The new electric Cayenne combines Porsche DNA with futuristic efficiency:
Slim Matrix LED headlights
Low front, broad shoulders, iconic body line
Frameless doors
New aeroblades at the rear (Turbo)
Reduced drag coefficient: 0.25
Optional is an Off-Road package with adjusted geometry for rougher terrain.
More space, more luxury, more personalisation
The Cayenne Electric was made 55 mm longer and got a 13 cm longer wheelbase.
Result: more legroom, more comfort, more functionality.
Boot space: 781–1,588 litres + 90-litre frunk
Towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes
New: Mood Modes, panel heating, variably dimming panoramic roof
And near-endless personalisation via Porsche Manufaktur and Paint to Sample
Conclusion: this isn't just an electric SUV, it's Porsche's new centre of gravity
The Cayenne Electric sets the bar absurdly high: faster than a supercar, more efficient than an EV, more comfortable than ever, and with technology straight from racing.
This isn't just a new Cayenne.
It's the new Porsche.
