Škoda Elroq reaches 100,000 units
Škoda smashes through a milestone: 100,000 Elroqs produced less than a year after production started. At a time when plenty of European EV models are struggling with demand and margins, the compact electric Škoda does exactly the opposite: winning, selling and collecting awards.
The EV conquering Europe at pace
Since early 2025 the Elroq has rolled out of Mladá Boleslav on the same hyper-flexible production line that also builds the Enyaq and the Octavia. One line, electric and combustion models mixed together.
The result: extremely scalable, extremely efficient and extremely attractive for markets that are becoming more volatile than ever.
And it works. Hard.
2nd best-selling electric car in Europe in the first three quarters of 2025
Best-selling EV in Czechia, Denmark and Slovakia
Top 3 in Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland
And in Germany, in October, the Elroq was even the best-selling EV of all
In April, July and October the Elroq was the best-selling electric car in all of Europe. Let that sink in.
Quality that convinces not only customers, but juries too
Beyond pure sales figures, the Elroq is also stacking up awards:
Red Dot Design Award
German Car of the Year 2026
Beaten by none of the 80 newcomers
Reached the final against four strong rivals and won convincingly
The jury praised above all the quality, efficiency, value for money, handling and drivetrain
For a compact EV this is an almost unheard-of clean sweep.
“100,000 units in less than a year: this is next level.”
Andreas Dick, Board Member for Production & Logistics, sums it up nicely:
“The speed at which we have built 100,000 Elroqs proves not only our production efficiency, but above all that customers trust cars built in Mladá Boleslav.”
The Modern Solid design language, the practical compact-SUV look, the value story and the scalability of the MEB architecture make for a perfect recipe in a market hungry for electric cars that are actually affordable and of good quality.
What does this mean for the market?
The Elroq is gradually becoming for Škoda what the Q4 e-tron should have been for Audi, and what the ID.4 never quite became for Volkswagen:
an electric success formula that convinces both the mass market and the experts.
With 120,000 BEVs delivered worldwide in just nine months, and two models in the European top ten, Škoda has unexpectedly grown into one of the quietest but strongest EV players on the continent.
Conclusion
The Elroq is not just a hit, it is a case study in how to build, market and scale an EV. And with 100,000 units in under a year, plus a Car of the Year title in the bag, it looks like 2026 will be the year Škoda’s compact electric SUV sets the tone for good.
