The Jogger is the answer almost nobody talks about, a long, clever estate-MPV that seats seven yet still costs less than plenty of ordinary family hatchbacks. The full-hybrid version sips fuel around town, the third row genuinely works for real people on shorter trips, and the whole car is refreshingly free of pretense. It looks a little like an estate on stilts and the plastics are basic, but for big families on a tight budget there is honestly nothing else that does this job for the money.
