This is Bentley at its most aggressive, most analogue, most car-loving. A hundred years after the first Super Sports the name returns, but more radical than ever: a Continental GT that partly sheds its luxury jacket and eyes the racetrack. Less weight, rear-wheel drive, a pure V8 without hybrid frills, and a chassis that recalls a GT3 racer more than a grand tourer.

The new Supersports is not a variant of the Continental GT, it is a shift in character. A car built for people who want grip, feedback and mechanical honesty, wrapped in Bentley luxury.

Design: functional violence packaged as an art object

The Continental GT Supersports looks as if Bentley has poured a GT3 racing car into a tailored suit. Not for show, but because it works.

At the front sits the largest splitter ever fitted to a road-legal Bentley, supported by carbon dive planes that bite the nose aggressively into the airflow. The flanks get longer side sills and B-shaped air guides that tidy up the turbulence around the front wheels. At the rear: a fixed wing on the boot lid and a deep diffuser that together generate more than 300 kg of extra downforce compared with a GT Speed.

The carbon roof panel lowers both the weight and the centre of gravity. Everything feels more muscular, harder and more purposeful, as if every line has a function.

Engine and performance: pure V8 mechanics, unfiltered

At a time when hybrids are becoming the norm, Bentley puts a statement on the table. The Supersports is non-hybrid, fully analogue in spirit. The new 4.0 twin-turbo V8 produces 666 hp and 800 Nm and breathes through a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system that produces a roar and growl you feel in your chest.

0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, top speed around 310 km/h. But Bentley stresses it itself: the Supersports is not about numbers, it is about sensation. Shifting is handled by a reworked 8-speed DCT, sharper than ever, with brake-to-downshift logic for maximum stability under hard turn-in.

Handling: the first rear-wheel-drive Continental GT for customers

Here comes the biggest culture shock.
The Supersports is the first RWD Continental GT you can ever buy, a decision Bentley's engineers describe as "truly liberating".

The chassis was completely revised:

  • wider rear axle

  • electronic limited-slip differential

  • torque vectoring

  • active roll control via Bentley Dynamic Ride

  • new twin-chamber dampers

Together with the optional Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres the car pulls up to 1.3 g in corners. That is supercar territory, but in a Bentley with leather, Dinamica, carbon and warmth in the cabin.

Drive modes (Touring, Bentley, Sport) and fully configurable ESC let you choose between perfection and controlled chaos. Sport sharpens everything to the maximum, with a rear axle that feels playful and alive.

Weight: the lightest Bentley in 85 years

By Bentley standards this is hardcore. The Supersports dips below 2,000 kg, almost half a tonne less than a standard GT. The biggest gains come from:

  • rear-wheel drive

  • no hybridisation

  • rear seats removed (replaced by a carbon tub)

  • carbon roof

  • less insulation and optimised audio

The brakes are the largest system found on any production car: 440 mm CSiC discs at the front.

Interior: motorsport focus, but still Bentley luxury

Inside you get room for two, no more. The new sports bucket seats sit lower and hold you more firmly. No seats in the back, but a luxuriously finished carbon-fibre structure.

The materials are classic Bentley, but with motorsport purpose: leather, Dinamica, high-gloss carbon and personalisation options that seem almost endless. Every Supersports also gets an individual production number.

Exclusivity: just 500 examples worldwide

Bentley is building only 500. All numbered. All configurable down to the last detail, right up to special Design Themes such as Nightfall.
