The SEAT Arona remains one of the most distinctive compact SUVs in its segment: tall enough for a good view, compact enough for the city, and just that bit more playful than the rest. In this updated generation its urban SUV character is sharpened with a stronger front, more refinement in the interior and a digital package that fits a connected life perfectly.

This is no jacked-up hatchback with plastic around the wheel arches, but a genuine urban SUV concept: robust, agile and clearly tuned for daily use in and outside the city.

Design: urban SUV with a firm jawline

The new Arona looks clearly more muscular than its predecessor. The large hexagonal grille, the higher-placed slim Full LED headlights and the continuous black zone in the front bumper connect air intakes, fog lights and central grille into one strong face. The result: more visual width and a front that literally lifts off the tarmac.

Around the car, black protective elements at the bottom reinforce the all-terrain look, while new wheel designs (16 to 18 inch) give the Arona more presence. The personalisation options do the rest:

• New colours such as Liminal, Oniric and Hypnotic give it a fresh, young look

• Contrasting roof colours in Midnight Black or Manhattan Grey put the floating roof in the spotlight

• FR models get subtle dark FR badges and black mirror caps for a sportier look

From front to back the Arona now feels more grown-up, without losing its playful nature.

Interior: compact format, mature atmosphere

Inside, SEAT has given the Arona a clear quality boost. The black-finished "greenhouse", soft materials, embossed textile on the seats and new door panels give the cabin a coherent, calm basis. The result is an interior that feels less "entry-level SUV" and more "fully fledged daily".

• Premium perforated leather steering wheel as standard on the higher-specified versions

• In the FR: standard bucket seats with extra lateral support and dark-tinted rear windows

• LED rings around the air vents (Fresh Mint in Style, Silver Metallic in FR) provide a subtle, modern light signature in the interior

With a boot of 400 litres, a folding rear bench and a double load floor, the Arona combines its compact exterior dimensions with genuine practical usability. Four metal hooks make it easy to secure luggage with a net, a simple detail that makes a big difference in daily use.

Connectivity: everything in your pocket, everything in your Arona

As you would expect from a modern SEAT, the Arona is fully connected to your digital life. The floating central display (8.25 inch as standard, 9.2 inch optional) forms the heart of the system.

• SEAT CONNECT with online services and live information

• 15 W cooled wireless charger plus two USB-C ports in the front

With the optional 9.2-inch system you get extra online functions such as internet radio, live traffic and search functions. You activate the built-in voice assistant with "Hola, Hola", after which you operate navigation, contacts or media without taking your hands off the wheel.

For those who love sound, there is the SEAT Sound System upgrade with six speakers, subwoofer and 300 W amplifier. For a compact SUV this feels anything but basic.

Engines and handling: light, efficient and surprisingly fun

The SEAT Arona stays true to a purely petrol line-up, with compact TSI engines that focus on efficiency and driving pleasure:

• 1.0 TSI 95 hp – 3-cylinder with 5-speed manual, the ideal city and commuting engine

• 1.0 TSI 115 hp – 3-cylinder with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG, just that extra ease and smoothness

• 1.5 TSI 150 hp – 4-cylinder with 7-speed DSG, the most mature and powerful choice

Beneath the body you find MacPherson front suspension and a semi-rigid rear axle, finely tuned to give a good mix of comfort and direct steering. The higher seating position gives not only a better view but also a sense of control that fits the SUV character perfectly.

With SEAT Drive Profile you can adjust the character of the Arona: Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual adjust engine response, steering feel and DSG logic. So the car feels different in the city than on the motorway, without ever feeling as if it is working against you.

Safety and assistance: relaxed driving, even when it gets busy

The Arona has meanwhile grown into one of the better-equipped compact SUVs in terms of safety and assistance. The systems work in the background but are ready when it gets busy or tiring:

• Travel Assist: combines ACC and Lane Assist for semi-autonomous driving

• Side Assist (blind spot) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert

• High Beam Assist with powerful Full LED technology

The new Full LED headlights are not only better looking, they also give significantly more light: more range on dipped beam, up to three times more brightness on high beam than the previous EcoLED setups. The result: at night the Arona drives noticeably more relaxed.

Personalisation: three trims, one clear Arona DNA

The Arona remains strong in its simplicity: three main lines that you can then refine further with option packs and colour and wheel choices.

• Arona – basic, but already surprisingly complete

• Style – extra comfort and equipment, including embossed seats, 16-inch wheels, parking sensors and leather steering wheel

• FR – sporty look and feel with bucket seats, driving modes, dark accents, FR badges, sporty exhaust look and extra assistance systems as standard

On top of that you can choose things like Climatronic dual-zone climate control, the larger 9.2-inch infotainment, 17 or 18-inch performance wheels, keyless entry and more. The result: one Arona basis, but a great many ways to make it "your" Arona.
