Toyota GR Yaris MORIZO RR

Nürburgring DNA, Morizo's signature and pure driving experience, limited to 100 cars for Europe

The GR Yaris MORIZO RR is no marketing edition, no cosmetic package and certainly no collector's item meant only to look good. This is a hardcore, motorsport-driven evolution of the GR Yaris, developed together with Akio Toyoda himself (alias Morizo) on one of the most demanding circuits in the world: the Nürburgring.

What Toyota does here is typical Toyota Gazoo Racing: translating racing experience not into a concept, but into a limited, road-legal car that has to deliver exactly the same feeling as on the circuit. No filtering. No excuses. Simply: car and driver as one.

From Nürburgring 24h to road legend

The basis of the GR Yaris MORIZO RR lies in the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours, where Toyota competed with TOYOTA GAZOO ROOKIE Racing (TGRR), a collaboration between Gazoo Racing and ROOKIE Racing, under the direct lead of Morizo.

Akio Toyoda himself drove a GR Yaris equipped with the GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT). Despite the physical strain of the Nordschleife he drove more laps than planned, and explicitly attributed that success to:

  • the consistency of the eight-speed automatic

  • the confidence-inspiring chassis balance

  • the ability to drive constantly on the limit without the car "tiring"

That experience literally became the blueprint for the MORIZO RR.

Chassis and driving experience: Nürburgring first, everything else after

The core of the MORIZO RR lies not in numbers, but in tuning. Thanks to an exclusive carbon-fibre rear wing, developed during the Nürburgring races, the car generates significant downforce. That extra vertical load was used to:

  • recalibrate the dampers completely

  • maximise wheel contact on uneven tarmac

  • increase stability without making the car nervous on the road

The electric power steering (EPS) also received a unique mapping. The result is a steering feel that:

  • is more direct around the centre

  • gives more feedback under high lateral load

  • stays calmer at high speed

This is no "stiff track setup", but an intelligent balance: sharp when you push, relaxed when you drive.

MORIZO Mode: four-wheel drive the way Morizo wants it

Perhaps the most telling detail:
the GRAVEL mode disappears and makes way for a MORIZO-exclusive 4WD Mode.

In this mode:

  • the torque split starts at 50:50 (front/rear)

  • the drivetrain stays neutral longer under load

  • you get maximum predictability on turn-in and when accelerating out

This is no drift mode. This is a confidence mode, designed to drive hard on unfamiliar tarmac, with minimal corrections and maximum control. Exactly what you need on the Nordschleife… and exactly what Morizo demands.

Exterior: functional aggression, no theatre

Visually the MORIZO RR is recognisable, but never loud. Everything has a reason.

The Gravel Khaki body colour (Morizo's personal choice) looks discreet, almost military, but emphasises the muscular wheel arches and aerodynamic addenda perfectly. It is a colour that stands out to connoisseurs, not to passers-by.

Furthermore:

  • carbon-fibre rear wing (exclusive)

  • carbon-fibre bonnet

  • front splitter and side skirts

  • Piano Black grille for a lower visual centre of gravity

  • Matte Bronze wheels

  • yellow brake calipers as a subtle Morizo signature

  • Morizo's signature on the windscreen

This is no styling package. This is race hardware for the road.

Interior: driver first, everything else secondary

Get in and you immediately feel this is no standard GR Yaris.

The cockpit is fully tuned to sporty driving:

  • suede steering wheel with smaller diameter

  • adapted paddle shifters

  • repositioned steering wheel buttons, inspired by the GR Yaris Rally2

  • exclusive seats with adapted embroidery, perforation and yellow stitching

Everything you touch has been changed. Not to be "different", but to work faster, more precisely and more intuitively when you drive at pace.

The GR Full TFT display explicitly shows the MORIZO Mode, and every car gets a numbered MORIZO RR plaque, no gimmick, but proof that you are sitting in something special.

Exclusivity: rare, but not unattainable

Toyota deliberately keeps it limited:

  • 100 examples for Europe

  • 100 examples for Japan

No worldwide hype, no thousands of units. This is a car for people who understand why it exists.
