Rob's Advice

Buy the Sandero Stepway if you want the cheapness of a supermini but with a bit more ground clearance and a touch of attitude. The raised ride height and rugged trim make it feel more grown-up than the price suggests, and it shrugs off broken roads and high kerbs that would have a normal city car wincing. You are still getting modest power and simple materials, so this is about cheerful, sensible transport rather than thrills or badge appeal. As a confident first car or a no-stress runabout that can handle a gravel driveway, it makes an awful lot of sense.
