Dacia is expanding its lineup once again.

The brand has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming crossover: STRIKER. Following models such as the Dacia Duster, Dacia Jogger, and Dacia Bigster, the range gains another model carrying the recognizable “ER” suffix. The STRIKER is expected to represent the next step in Dacia’s expansion into the C-segment, combining crossover styling with the practicality of a versatile family car.

A name that fits perfectly within the Dacia family

According to Dacia, the name STRIKER was chosen for its strong and universal character. The word evokes the idea of hitting a target or scoring a decisive strike, referencing both sporting achievement and determination. It also carries a sense of power and efficiency—qualities Dacia wants to associate with this new model.

Equally important is the familiar “ER” ending, which firmly positions the STRIKER within the brand’s naming tradition alongside Duster, Jogger and Bigster. The result is a name that is easy to pronounce, memorable, and clearly linked to the Dacia identity.

A crossover with wagon practicality

Although Dacia has not yet revealed full details about the car, early teaser images already suggest the direction the STRIKER will take.

The new model appears to blend elements of a station wagon and a crossover. The silhouette hints at a relatively long body combined with a slightly raised ride height, robust plastic wheel arch cladding and distinctive rear light signatures that combine vertical and horizontal elements.

This approach is becoming increasingly popular among manufacturers: combining the space and practicality of a wagon with the rugged styling of an SUV. For Dacia, it could be the ideal formula for a family-friendly vehicle that remains affordable.

Familiar technology under the body

From a technical perspective, the STRIKER will likely rely on the same architecture used by several recent Dacia models. That means a version of the CMF-B platform developed within the Renault Group. Engine options are expected to mirror those found in other models from the brand, including:

  • a 1.2-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine

  • a bi-fuel petrol-LPG version

  • a full hybrid system with a 1.8-liter petrol engine producing around 155 hp

This strategy aligns perfectly with Dacia’s philosophy: proven technology, simplified engineering, and highly competitive pricing.

Official reveal on March 10

While the name has now been confirmed, the full picture will be revealed very soon. Dacia has announced that the complete design of the STRIKER will be unveiled on March 10, 2026. That presentation should provide a clearer idea of the model’s styling, dimensions and positioning within the lineup.

If early expectations are correct, the STRIKER will become a spacious and practical family crossover with a rugged, adventurous character.

AutoNext Take: Dacia continues to master the value formula

What this announcement highlights is how consistently Dacia executes its strategy. Rather than chasing extreme performance or expensive technology, the brand focuses on delivering practical, robust vehicles that offer maximum value for money.

The STRIKER appears to follow exactly that philosophy. If it indeed becomes a crossover-style wagon with generous interior space and competitive pricing, it could easily attract buyers who find many modern SUVs too expensive. And just like the Duster did when it first arrived, the STRIKER might well become another major success story for Dacia.
