Porsche Cayenne S Electric: Porsche expands its electric Cayenne lineup
10/03/2026
The electrification of the SUV segment continues at full speed for Porsche.
With the introduction of the Porsche Cayenne S Electric, the brand adds a new variant to its fully electric Cayenne lineup. The new model positions itself between the entry-level Cayenne Electric and the flagship Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric. In doing so, Porsche creates a middle ground that promises a balanced combination of performance, efficiency and everyday usability. With 544 hp of standard output and up to 666 hp with Launch Control, the Cayenne S Electric delivers performance figures that feel far closer to a sports car than a traditional SUV.

The new model positions itself between the entry-level Cayenne Electric and the flagship Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric. In doing so, Porsche creates a middle ground that promises a balanced combination of performance, efficiency and everyday usability.
With 544 hp (400 kW) of standard output and up to 666 hp (490 kW) with Launch Control, the Cayenne S Electric delivers performance figures that feel far closer to a sports car than a traditional SUV.
Large battery and ultra-fast charging
Like the other Cayenne Electric variants, the S uses a 113 kWh high-voltage battery.
Thanks to support for DC fast charging up to 400 kW, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in under 16 minutes under ideal conditions.
That places the Cayenne S Electric among the fastest-charging electric SUVs currently available.
Subtle but sportier design
Visually, the Cayenne S Electric receives several model-specific styling elements. Porsche introduces Volcano Grey Metallic accents on the front and rear sections, while the diffuser elements are painted in body colour.
Standard 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels add a slightly more aggressive stance without dramatically altering the Cayenne’s recognizable design.
Inside, Porsche also introduces a new personalization concept through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur called Director’s Cuts. The first of these is the Interior Style Package, combining two-tone leather and Alcantara with green accents such as Delgada Green stitching and Izabal Green aluminium details.
Technology previously reserved for the Turbo
Interestingly, several features previously exclusive to the Turbo model are now available on the Cayenne S. These include:
Porsche Active Ride for exceptional stability
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus for sharper driving dynamics
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB)
Push-to-Pass, temporarily unlocking 90 kW of additional power
A dedicated Track Mode also optimizes battery temperature and vehicle systems to deliver maximum performance on circuit driving.
AutoNext Take
With the Cayenne S Electric, Porsche once again shows how rapidly its electrification strategy is evolving. Where electric SUVs were once focused primarily on efficiency and practicality, the emphasis is now shifting toward performance and emotional appeal.
The goal here is not just electrification, it’s translating sports car DNA into an electric SUV platform. Ironically, the Cayenne itself was controversial when Porsche launched it more than two decades ago. Today, that same model is becoming one of the brand’s most technologically advanced electric performance vehicles.
And when a large SUV can sprint to 100 km/h in under four seconds while still offering over 650 kilometres of range, it becomes increasingly difficult to argue that electric performance cars lack excitement.
