Rob's Advice
Vincenzo Lancia was a Fiat racing driver who founded his own company in Turin in 1906 and spent the rest of his life being first: the first monocoque body on the Lambda in 1922, the first V6 in the Aurelia of 1950, independent suspension long before anyone else thought it mattered.
Then came the rally years. The Fulvia, the Stratos, the 037 and the Delta Integrale won more World Rally Championship manufacturer titles than any other brand, ten in all, and the Delta alone took six in a row. Nobody who saw an Integrale on a snowy stage has forgotten it.
After two decades of neglect, Stellantis is rebuilding Lancia as its Italian premium brand. The new Ypsilon, in electric and hybrid form, is the first step, with a Gamma flagship and a new Delta to follow, and a return to rallying to remind everyone where the name came from.
