Rob's Advice

Charles Rolls sold cars and Henry Royce built them, and when they met for lunch in Manchester in 1904 they agreed to make the best car in the world. The Silver Ghost of 1907 did exactly that, running 15,000 miles without a fault, and the reputation has never left.

The Phantom has been the car of kings, maharajahs and rock stars since 1925, the Spirit of Ecstasy has ridden on every bonnet since 1911, and the Goodwood factory that BMW built in 2003 turned a fading marque into the most profitable luxury car business on Earth.

Today Rolls-Royce builds the Phantom, Ghost, Cullinan and the electric Spectre, almost every one of them commissioned to a client's own specification through the Bespoke programme. The engineering is BMW's; the leather, the wood, the starlight headliner and the silence are entirely Goodwood's own.
