Used Volkswagen Sharan

If you need seven proper seats rather than five plus two, the Sharan is still one of the smartest used buys around. Its sliding rear doors are a gift in tight car parks with small children, and the third row is far more usable than in most seven-seat SUVs. Volkswagen built the last one in Portugal in 2022 with no successor, so late cars from the 2015 facelift onwards are the ones to target, with the 2.0 TDI with 150 hp as the all-rounder and the 1.4 TSI with 150 hp if you mostly drive short distances. The design dates back to 2010 and it shows: the cabin looks dated next to newer cars and it drives like the big box it is. Check that the sliding doors and, where fitted, the electric tailgate open and close smoothly. Buy one if you want maximum space and flexibility for a big family and care more about room than image.
