The new Volkswagen ID. Polo GTI will make its world premiere at the 24h Nürburgring, during a weekend where Volkswagen is celebrating 50 years of GTI. The timing is deliberate. Half a century after the original Golf GTI helped define the hot hatch segment, Volkswagen is using the Green Hell to show what GTI means in an electric future.

To celebrate its 130th anniversary, the German tuner has revealed the ABT CUPRA Formentor VZ5 635, a special edition limited to just 30 units worldwide. That number is part tribute, part statement: 130 years of ABT compressed into 30 cars that will never exist in this form again. The base car was already special.

The upgraded Polestar 3 now moves to an 800V electrical architecture, gains new batteries, new motors, faster charging, more computing power and a new range structure. The result is a flagship electric SUV that finally looks much sharper on paper, with DC fast charging up to 350 kW, a 10 to 80% charge in as little as 22 minutes, and a new Performance version producing 680 PS and 870 Nm.

The new Lamborghini Revuelto NA63 is a special edition created exclusively for North America, with all 63 units destined for the United States and Canada. The number 63 is not random, of course. It refers to 1963, the year Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company, and gains extra meaning in 2026, the brand’s 63rd anniversary. And yes, for European Lamborghini fans, that makes this one slightly painful.

The brand that once wanted to become all-electric is now taking a different road. Under its new Focus 2030 strategy, Lotus will move towards a more flexible multi-powertrain future, combining ICE, PHEV and BEV models instead of forcing every product into a purely electric direction. The headline is impossible to ignore: an all-new Type 135 V8 hybrid supercar is planned for 2028, with more than 1000 PS.

Following the planned sale of its stakes in Bugatti Rimac and the Rimac Group, Porsche has now announced another major step in its strategic realignment: the discontinuation of three subsidiaries, affecting more than 500 employees in total. The companies involved are Cellforce Group GmbH, Porsche eBike Performance GmbH and Cetitec GmbH.

For the first time ever, the complete BMW Art Car Collection will be shown together in one place. The exhibition, titled “BMW ART CARS – 20 ARTISTS, 50 YEARS OF INNOVATION. REUNITED AT BMW WELT”, will run at BMW Welt in Munich from 29 July to 31 August 2026, with the opening ceremony taking place on 28 July. That means all 20 BMW Art Cars, from Alexander Calder’s 1975 BMW 3.0 CSL to Julie Mehretu’s 2024 BMW M Hybrid V8, will finally stand together under one roof.

But now Ingolstadt is preparing something larger, more luxurious and more clearly aimed at the full-size premium SUV segment: the new Audi Q9. BMW M Motorsport has revealed the final race livery of the BMW M3 Touring 24H, the wild estate-shaped endurance car that will compete at the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours. What began as an April Fools’ joke in 2025 is now a real, GT3-based race car with 590 hp, 700 Nm, a sequential gearbox and one of the most unexpected silhouettes on the grid.
