A digital artist built a modern 350 GT, then dropped a Revuelto V12 under the hood

Digital artist Mike G., of the 'mike.g.concepts' studio, has reimagined the 1964 Lamborghini 350 GT, the brand's first production road car, as a modern grand tourer called the 650 GT Feroce. It exists only as an Instagram rendering, powered in the artist's imagination by the Revuelto's naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12.

Porsche retired its last mid-engined race car the only right way, by racing it

Porsche has built the last 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, the final mid-engined racing car from Zuffenhausen before a 911 GT4 R replaces it in 2027. Rather than retire it to a plinth, Porsche sent it into a six-hour Nurburgring endurance race with legends Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister, finishing fourth overall on 1 August in a Porsche Museum livery. It now joins the company collection.

Eccentrica is building the open-top V12 manual Diablo Lamborghini no longer builds

Eccentrica, the Italian firm behind the acclaimed Lamborghini Diablo restomod, is teasing an open-top version for a reveal at Monterey Car Week on 10 August. The teaser confirms it keeps the naturally aspirated V12 and gated manual of the 1.2 million euro, 19-unit coupe. The bigger point: the pure analog V12 experience no longer exists at Lamborghini itself, and has migrated to specialists like this one.

A Bugatti designer turned the G-Class into couture, and you cannot change a thing

HOF, a revived German coachbuilder, has revealed the Kinso, a Mercedes-AMG G 63 rebuilt as Car Couture and priced at 486,000 euro before the donor car. Styled by La Voiture Noire designer Etienne Salome in fermented-indigo and raw-silk tones, it is sold like a fashion collection, complete with matching luggage and clothing. The twist: there is no configurator, and that is exactly the point.

Mercedes' CEO says the industry is at peak low button, not peak screen

Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius says the industry has reached "peak low button," conceding touch-only controls went too far, even as he expects screens to keep growing. Mercedes has already added physical steering wheel controls back to the GLC and CLA Shooting Brake, partly ahead of new Euro NCAP requirements in 2026.
