Bugatti marked the Type 41 Royale's centenary at its Molsheim festival by reuniting three of the six that exist, lent by the Schlumpf collection and Volkswagen. The car itself was a commercial failure: Ettore planned 25 and sold three in his lifetime. Its 12.8-litre engine went on to power 88 railcars.
