Ferrari LaFerrari in unique Signal Green heads to auction in Monaco
13/03/2026
When Ferrari unveiled the Ferrari LaFerrari in 2013, most buyers stayed loyal to the brand’s traditional palette: Rosso Corsa, black, or yellow.
A one-off Signal Green LaFerrari, originally commissioned by Jay Kay, will soon cross the block at the RM Sotheby's Monaco Auction 2026, scheduled for 25 April 2026. Finished through Ferrari’s Extra Campionario programme, the car is believed to be the only LaFerrari ever delivered in this color, making it one of the most distinctive examples of Ferrari’s hybrid hypercar ever built.
A LaFerrari that refused to blend in
The LaFerrari was never meant to be subtle. With 950 horsepower from its hybrid V12 powertrain, it was already one of the most dramatic Ferraris of the modern era. But this particular example goes even further.
Commissioned through the UK dealership Dick Lovett Ferrari Swindon, the car left Maranello in June 2014 finished in Signal Green, paired with an exposed carbon fibre roof and additional visible carbon elements across the bodywork. Other details underline the bespoke specification:
Tailor Made five-spoke alloy wheels
Giallo Modena brake calipers
black and green leather interior with matching stitching
a fitted luggage set finished in green
the word “Jamiroquai” engraved on the steering wheel
The result is unmistakable. Even among LaFerraris (a car that rarely goes unnoticed) this one stands apart.
From Goodwood to the Ferrari Museum
Shortly after delivery, Jay Kay drove the car at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed, taking it up the hillclimb course in front of thousands of spectators. The car’s unusual color and celebrity provenance quickly made it a recognizable piece of Ferrari history.
In 2017, the LaFerrari was displayed at the Enzo Ferrari Museum as part of the exhibition “Driving with the Stars,” which showcased Ferraris owned by public figures. After accumulating only 3,000 kilometres, Jay Kay sold the car in 2019, after which it remained in the UK before changing hands again in the early 2020s.
Carefully maintained and still highly original
Despite its museum appearances and celebrity past, the car has been meticulously maintained throughout its life. Servicing was carried out by several Ferrari-authorised workshops, including HR Owen Ferrari London, Maranello Sales Ltd, and Joe Macari.
Later services were completed in Germany and Austria by specialists such as LUEG Sportivo, Scuderia Gohm, and Emil Frey Sportivo. At its most recent service in February 2026, the car had covered 11,154 kilometres. Diagnostics showed the high-voltage hybrid battery at 71% health and the low-voltage system at 97%, reassuring numbers for collectors considering a hybrid hypercar.
A €4–4.5 million Ferrari with serious collector appeal
The Ferrari LaFerrari is already one of the most collectible Ferraris of the 21st century. Only 499 coupés were built, each powered by Ferrari’s 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 combined with a HY-KERS hybrid system, delivering a total output of 950 horsepower.
But rarity alone does not explain why this car is expected to fetch between €4 million and €4.5 million at the RM Sotheby's Monaco Auction 2026.
What truly sets it apart is the combination of celebrity provenance, an extremely unusual factory color, and a well-documented ownership history.
