Novitec has a fix for the Lamborghini Temerario's most criticised flaw: its sound

Novitec's new Temerario programme leads with a range of exhausts, right up to gold-plated Inconel, to give Lamborghini's twin-turbo V8 hybrid the voice some felt it was missing.

Someone finally addresses the Temerario's touchiest subject

The Lamborghini Temerario is a technical marvel, but ever since it replaced the howling V10 Huracan, one criticism has followed it around: its twin-turbo V8 hybrid just does not sing the way a junior Lambo should. German tuner Novitec reckons it has the answer, and unsurprisingly, it starts with the exhaust.

It's all about the exhaust

The heart of Novitec's Temerario programme is a family of new exhaust systems, aimed squarely at giving the car more voice and drama. Buyers can choose a RACE system with or without flap control, or a power-optimised flagship setup, and the material options are gloriously excessive: stainless steel, lightweight Inconel, or Inconel with high-temperature heat protection and 999 fine-gold plating. There is even a Switchtronic system that lets you open and close the exhaust flaps from the cockpit by remote. If the standard Temerario is too polite, this is the cure.

Wheels and stance

Beyond the noise, Novitec addresses the look. There are three forged wheel designs, the NL5, NL6 and NL7, offered in two staggered fitments: 20-inch front with 21-inch rear, or a more aggressive 21 and 22-inch combination, wrapped in suitably wide rubber. A Novitec sport-spring set lowers the Temerario for a meaner stance while working with the factory adaptive dampers, so it keeps the standard car's ride flexibility.

What we don't know yet

Novitec being Novitec, more power is surely coming, and there is electronic hardware ready for it, including a Tectronic module that manages cat-replacement pipes. For now, though, the company has not published any horsepower figures or prices for the Temerario programme. As context, the standard car already produces around 907 hp from its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors, so it is hardly lacking in the first place.

AutoNext Take

We love that Novitec has gone straight for the Temerario's sorest spot. The car is monstrously capable, but sound matters enormously on a Lamborghini, and the muted turbo V8 was the one thing that left enthusiasts a little cold. Offering a proper range of exhausts, right up to gold-plated Inconel, is exactly the kind of theatrical fix the situation calls for, and it mirrors what Ferrari did with the F80's track exhaust to answer similar criticism.

The frustration is that we do not yet have the numbers or, more importantly, a sound clip to judge whether it truly transforms the character. But the intent is bang on. If Novitec can give the Temerario the aural drama to match its performance, it will have fixed the one thing Lamborghini's newest baby was missing. We are very keen to hear it.

Made with Infinity Ward and Activision, it appears in Warzone and DMZ modes when the game launches on 23 October 2026. It is not a real production car.

The Jensen Interceptor is back after 50 years, with a supercharged V8 and a clever plan

The Jensen name is returning with the Interceptor GTX, its first all-new car in decades, timed for the original Interceptor's 60th anniversary. Built by brand owner Jensen International Automotive with Jeff Qvale as a key partner, it pairs a hand-built aluminium body and chassis with a supercharged V8, reportedly around 650 hp with a manual. It launches as a track-only special first, with road-going Interceptors to follow. Price and numbers are still to be announced.
