Maserati's electric GT twins just got up to 40,000 euro cheaper, and one is still unique

The GranTurismo Folgore drops to €159,200 and the gorgeous GranCabrio Folgore to €169,500, still the only four-seat electric GT convertible you can buy.

Two of the prettiest EVs on earth just lost a small fortune from their price tags

Maserati has just made two of the most beautiful electric cars on the market dramatically more affordable. The electric GranTurismo Folgore now starts at €159,200 and the GranCabrio Folgore at €169,500, savings of around €40,000 each. And the drop-top is not just gorgeous, it is genuinely unique: still the only four-seat electric GT convertible you can buy.

The new prices

The cuts are big. The GranTurismo Folgore falls from €199,250 to €159,200, a drop of around €40,050. The GranCabrio Folgore falls from €208,250 to €169,500, a saving of €38,750. These are the fully electric Folgore versions of Maserati's gorgeous grand tourer and its convertible sibling, and tens of thousands off the top of a six-figure price tag is the kind of reduction that genuinely changes who can consider one.

The GranCabrio Folgore has no rivals, full stop

Here is the part we want to shout about. The GranCabrio Folgore remains the only four-seat electric GT convertible on the entire market. Nobody else builds one. If you want to drop the roof, seat four people and travel in near silence on electric power, with the drama of a Maserati badge, this is your only option, and it just happens to be stunning to look at. That combination of beauty, exclusivity and sheer rarity makes it one of the most special electric cars in existence, and Maserati deserves real credit for building something this bold.

Why the cuts make sense

The reasoning is the same as with the cheaper Grecale: Maserati needs to sell more cars, and the Folgore electric models were ambitiously priced for a cooling EV market. Rather than let two of its best products sit in showrooms, the brand has made them far more attainable. For buyers, that means a genuine Maserati grand tourer, electric, beautiful and fast, for the kind of money that buys a far more ordinary German performance car.

AutoNext Take

Let us be bold about this, because Maserati was bold first: the GranCabrio Folgore is one of the most desirable electric cars in the world, and now it is €38,750 cheaper. A four-seat electric GT convertible with looks this good and literally no direct rival is the kind of car that justifies a brand's entire existence, and we are thrilled it exists at all. The price cuts are the smart, necessary part, but the real story is that Maserati built something nobody else dared to, and made it gorgeous. Take a bow, Maserati. Now go and sell every single one.

Maserati just made its electric Grecale a lot more tempting

Maserati has cut the price of its electric Grecale Folgore SUV to €98,700, down €11,250 from the €109,950 it cost before the facelift. It is a clear move to make the Trident's electric SUV more competitive and get more of them onto the road, and it brings a genuinely stylish, fast electric SUV under the symbolic €100,000 mark.
