This is a small electric SUV with a very clear position in the market.

Only hours after Skoda revealed its new compact electric SUV, the first prices, trims, colours and options are already visible. The headline? The Epiq Essence 55 starts from €32,990, while a fully loaded Epiq Clever 55 with every available option currently shown comes out at €42,375. That is not cheap in the old sense of the word. But for a practical 155 kW electric SUV with up to 440 km of range, 475 litres of boot space and proper Skoda packaging, it could be exactly where the market needs it to be.

Four versions already visible

The configurator currently shows four 55 versions, all with 155 kW, electric power, automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The entry point is the Epiq Essence 55 from €32,990. Above that sits the Selection 55 from €36,990, followed by the Clever 55 from €37,765. The launch-focused First Edition 55 starts from €39,690.

That is quite a tight price spread, especially considering the First Edition and Clever versions look visually stronger and will likely be the most appealing for private buyers. The Clever 55 is particularly interesting, because even with all available options selected, the total lands at €42,375.

Colours: finally some green and red

Good news: the Epiq does not only come in fifty shades of grey. The metallic colour palette includes Mystery Black, Jasper Red, Platinum White and Pebble Silver. The non-metallic choices are Marble Grey and Timiano Green.

A compact EV like this needs a bit of personality. The Epiq’s design is clean and rational, so colours like Jasper Red and Timiano Green help it feel less appliance-like and more like an actual car people might enjoy choosing.

Wheels: up to 19-inch bicolour

The wheel options also look solid. Depending on the version, the Epiq can go up to 19-inch alloy wheels. Otherwise, the maximum shown is 18-inch alloys. Both suit the car.

The 19-inch LARK wheels give it more visual weight and make it look less like a basic compact crossover. The 18-inch SAOLA wheels are probably the more sensible everyday choice, especially for comfort and efficiency, but visually they still work.

Interior: clean, but maybe too safe

The interior choices are where we would have liked a bit more courage. The configurator shows Suite Brown, Loft Mint and Loft. These will probably feel modern, durable and very Skoda, but they are also quite safe.

The Epiq is supposed to be rational, practical and accessible. Still, with the exterior getting Jasper Red and Timiano Green, the cabin could have used one slightly bolder option. Something with a bit more contrast, warmth or playful energy would fit the car’s urban EV character nicely.

Options are simple and fairly priced

The visible options list is refreshingly understandable. The Light & View Pack costs €995 and includes LED headlights with variable light distribution, LED Matrix headlights, all-weather lighting, cornering lights, motorway lighting and LED rear lights with dynamic indicators.

The Travel Pack costs €1,200 and adds navigation, voice control, Lane Assist with Traffic Jam Assist and Emergency Assist, rear USB-C ports with increased charging power and PreCrash safety technology. Then there is a panoramic glass roof for €795 and a removable tow bar for €550.

That is it. No insane maze of confusing packages. No absurd option structure. At least from what is currently visible, this is quite clean. Exactly how an entry-level EV should be configured.

The fully loaded number is the real story

A New Epiq Clever 55 with the 55 kWh battery, 155 kW, front-wheel drive and every shown option selected lands at €42,375. Many EVs start at an attractive price, then quickly climb into territory where they stop making sense. The Epiq still gets expensive when fully optioned, but it does not suddenly become ridiculous. For a compact electric SUV with strong range, proper boot space, bidirectional charging and usable technology, this feels competitive.

AutoNext Take

The Skoda Epiq already made sense on paper, but the configurator makes it feel like a proper product. Prices from €32,990 are strong, especially with the 55 version already showing 155 kW. The jump to the better-equipped trims is not outrageous, and a fully optioned Clever 55 at €42,375 keeps the car within a realistic zone for private EV buyers and company car users.

Skoda Epiq revealed as affordable electric SUV with 440 km range

The new Skoda Epiq becomes the brand’s most accessible fully electric model and the entry point into its EV line-up. It sits below the Elroq and Enyaq, uses the new MEB+ platform, and brings up to 440 km of range in a compact SUV package designed for everyday European life. That sounds simple. But in today’s EV market, simple might be exactly what people need.
