2026 Renault Twingo E-Tech Red Green Black Yellow

New Renault Twingo Is A Retro EV For Everyone

Renault's smallest EV is expected to cost less than €20,000

The original Renault Twingo, launched in 1992, radically changed the city car market with a bold new vision: cheerful, colorful, modular. The name came together from 3 words: Twist, Swing and Tango, reflecting the car's agile and energetic spirit.

Today, this segment represents less than 5% of the market in Europe.

Why a new Twingo?

The limited size of the segment is not the result of a lack of demand: motorists in Europe are still looking for compact and especially affordable cars, designed for city use or as a second car. According to Renault, the problem lies more in the offer: most manufacturers have withdrawn from this segment because the margin, standards, and customer expectations are difficult to combine.

Therefore, Renault decided to take on this challenge, building on its history and expertise in small cars. The result is the fourth generation Twingo: a real game-changer in the A-segment, available from early 2026.

The new Twingo combines the character of the original – the round headlights, the compact monovolume shape – with a modern, fresh interpretation that fits perfectly into today's urban life.
The result is easily recognizable as the original Twingo. Even the 3 intakes on the hood can be found again on the car.

While many small cars from the past only had three doors, this Twingo comes with five doors, making the car much more user-friendly despite its size. In addition, a lot of attention was paid to the interior. It is a very futuristic design with subtle hints to the past. The interior is modular and surprisingly spacious for this segment. And just like in the past, the Twingo comes again with 2 individually adjustable rear seats. This allows you to choose between a larger trunk or more legroom for the passengers.

And thanks to the various accessories that are easily interchangeable with others, you can customize the interior to your own preferences. Our favorite is the 90s inspired floor mats.

100 % electric

The Renault Twingo E-Tech is fully electric and has an 82 hp electric motor reassembled on the front axle as before. Coupled with the low weight of 1,200 kg, this results in an acceleration of 3.85 seconds to 50 km/h.
A 27.5 kWh LFP battery provides a range of 263 km (WLTP).
More than enough for the average city commute.

Affordable and European made

Renault strongly reiterates that the new Twingo will have a starting price of less than € 20,000. Something that until recently was hardly seen in the electric city car segment. Even with options, the car will still maintain a very attractive price. The car is produced in the Novo Mesto factory in Slovenia and is a European product with European standards.

The new Renault Twingo will be available from the beginning of next year. Customers can now sign up to be the first to receive it by purchasing a "Twingo R Pass".

This is the perfect car for the city and finally an electric car that is somewhat affordable. Along with the looks and the practical interior, this makes it one of the most interesting cars of next year.
