Dodge's Charger Daytona reaches Europe without a WLTP range figure

First European deliveries of the eighth-generation Charger start this month through importer KW Automotive, priced from €66,187 in Belgium. The electric Daytona still carries the American EPA range, and the US bought 534 of them in six months.

Dodge starts European Charger deliveries this month with a US range figure and no WLTP one

Dodge put the eighth-generation Charger in front of the European press at Stellantis' Balocco proving ground this week, three months after order books opened on 9 June and with the first customer cars due this month. Four versions arrive at once: the petrol Charger R/T Sixpack and Scat Pack Sixpack, and the electric Charger Daytona R/T and Daytona Scat Pack, each as a two-door or a four-door, all left-hand drive, sold and serviced by importer KW Automotive rather than Stellantis' own dealers.

Charger prices: €66,187 in Belgium, €65,093 in Germany, £62,688 in the UK before taxes

In Belgium the two-door Charger R/T Sixpack costs €66,187 and the four-door €68,002; the Scat Pack Sixpack is €69,212 and €70,906. The electric Daytona R/T starts at €79,860 as a coupé and €81,675 as a saloon, and the Daytona Scat Pack tops the range at €84,095 and €85,910. Germany lists the R/T Sixpack from €65,093 including 19 percent VAT, and the UK from £62,688 for the same car and £77,067 for the Daytona R/T, both before registration and local taxes. The electric premium on a two-door is therefore €13,673 in Belgium, for a car that sits on the same platform and the same body.

The Charger Daytona has no WLTP range, and the 418 km figure is EPA

The Daytona pairs a 100.5 kWh battery, 93.9 kWh of it usable, with a 400-volt system, two motors and standard all-wheel drive; the R/T makes 496 hp, the Scat Pack 630 hp, and a PowerShot button adds 40 hp for ten seconds. DC charging peaks at 183 kW and 20 to 80 percent takes about 27 minutes. What is missing is a WLTP range. Neither Dodge's European material nor KW Automotive's site gives one, and the 510 km for the R/T and 418 km for the Scat Pack that have been reprinted in Europe, sometimes labelled WLTP, are the American EPA ratings. WLTP figures normally come out above EPA ones for the same car, so Dodge is delivering an EV in Europe while quoting the less flattering of the two numbers it could have used.

Sixpack: 420 hp and 550 hp from the 3.0 Hurricane six, and no V8 anywhere

The petrol Chargers use the 3.0-litre twin-turbo Hurricane straight six: 420 hp and 635 Nm in the R/T, 550 hp and 720 Nm in the High Output Scat Pack, through an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive that can send everything to the rear axle on demand. Dodge quotes 0 to 96 km/h in 4.6 and 3.9 seconds. The car is 5.25 metres long, 2.03 metres wide and around 2.2 tonnes as a Sixpack, with a hidden hatch and 1,064 litres of load space behind the front seats, and every European example is built in Windsor, Ontario. The Super Bee revived in August is the same six-cylinder car; there is no V8 in this generation.

Five European first drives at Balocco agree on the weight and the sound

The verdicts filed this week from Balocco converge. Auto Express calls the Charger characterful and practical but expects it to stay a rare sight at more than two metres wide and around 2,100 kg; Evo asks whether it is still a Ford Mustang rival; AutoGids liked the chassis at speed but found the gearbox calibration slow and the six-cylinder soundtrack artificial, as if amplified through the speakers rather than the exhaust; auto motor und sport's test headline calls the Sixpack limp and numb and then notes the missing V8. Le Moniteur Automobile's summary is that the prices are 'very American' for the size and equipment.

534 Charger Daytonas in six months: the US has already chosen between the two Chargers

The American numbers explain why Europe gets both powertrains. Dodge sold 7,421 Charger Daytonas in the US in 2025 but only 346 of them in the fourth quarter, after the federal EV tax credit ended, and 534 in the first half of 2026 against 4,299 a year earlier. The petrol Charger went the other way: 1,672 in the first quarter and 2,911 in the second, so roughly eight combustion Chargers for every electric one by summer. Europe is being offered the car the US stopped buying at a €13,673 premium over the one it started buying, and Ford is reopening Mustang GTD orders in Europe the same month.

AutoNext Take

Europe is getting the Charger the way America no longer buys it. Dodge has priced the Daytona €13,673 above the Sixpack in Belgium, shipped it without a European range figure, and put a synthetic V8 on a car whose US customers walked away the moment the subsidy did. That makes the Daytona the version KW Automotive's dealers will demonstrate and the Sixpack the version they will invoice, and the US ratio of eight to one is the floor, not the ceiling, for how lopsided that gets here.

The WLTP figure is the easy fix and the revealing one. Every other EV on sale in Europe has a homologated number on its price list, and a 100.5 kWh car with 183 kW charging should land above the 418 km EPA rating once it is measured on the European cycle. If KW Automotive publishes a WLTP range before the first Daytonas reach customers this month, Dodge has spent the summer underselling its own electric car. If it does not, the Daytona is being sold in Europe as an American car that happens to be here, and buyers will price it that way.

Dodge Charger returns to Europe with gas and electric power

The Dodge Charger is coming back to Europe. And this time, it arrives with two very different personalities. On one side, there is the all-electric Dodge Charger Daytona, a battery-powered muscle car with standard all-wheel drive, serious performance numbers and the kind of attitude that does not usually belong in the European EV segment. On the other side, there are the petrol-powered SIXPACK models, using a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine for buyers who still want combustion in their muscle car.

Dodge revived the Super Bee, and it is neither electric nor a V8

Dodge has revived the storied Super Bee name on the 2027 Charger, and it breaks two muscle-car rules at once: it is neither electric nor a V8. Power comes from a 600 hp Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six, more than the old Hemi ever made, after Dodge's electric Charger Daytona flopped with its core buyers. Offered as a coupe or sedan, it is a live test of whether muscle is about performance or the specific theatre of a V8.

Ford reopens Mustang GTD orders in Europe: 500 cars, no plate promise

Ford has reopened Mustang GTD applications in Europe until 16 October, with 500 cars in this batch and the Spirit of America livery on the menu. The 2024 prices stand: €359,900 in Germany, €366,000 in Belgium, €476,800 in the Netherlands. Ford's German site still says EU type approval is in progress and the car may be track-only in some markets.
