LEGO Technic summer 2026: Koenigsegg, Aston Martin F1 and Fast & Furious icons join the line-up

Every summer, LEGO quietly reminds car enthusiasts that the automotive world doesn’t only live on asphalt.

This summer could become one of the most exciting seasons for LEGO Technic collectors.

For 2026, the LEGO Technic range is preparing one of its most ambitious line-ups in years. No fewer than twelve new sets are expected to arrive between June and August, covering everything from hypercars and Formula 1 machinery to movie icons and classic sports cars.

The new Ultimate Car: Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear

The centrepiece of the 2026 collection is expected to be the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear, joining the legendary Technic Ultimate Car line. Previous entries in this series have included icons such as the Bugatti Chiron, the Lamborghini Sián, and the Ferrari Daytona SP3.

If rumours are accurate, the Koenigsegg model could become the most complex Technic vehicle yet, consisting of approximately 4,104 pieces and carrying an estimated price of €449.99.

For LEGO, this Ultimate Car series has become something of a ritual. Every two years, a new hypercar appears that pushes the limits of mechanical LEGO engineering. And the Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear seems perfectly suited for that role.

Fast & Furious arrives in Technic form

Another interesting development for the 2026 wave is the arrival of The Fast and the Furious cars in the Technic ecosystem. Two models are expected to represent the franchise.

The first is the iconic Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Brian O’Conner in the original film. With its distinctive green livery, the Eclipse became one of the most recognisable tuner cars in cinema history.

The second model celebrates the legendary Dodge Charger R/T, the unmistakable muscle car driven by Dominic Toretto. With over 1,500 pieces, this set will likely be one of the larger Technic builds of the summer. The inclusion of these movie cars reflects LEGO’s growing focus on automotive pop culture, blending engineering with nostalgia.

Formula 1 enters a new Technic era

Motorsport fans also have something to look forward to. The upcoming Aston Martin AMR26 becomes the first Technic model representing the latest generation of Formula 1 cars.

The set is expected to feature around 1,547 pieces and a number of mechanical details typical for Technic: working steering, suspension, gearbox elements and a visible V6 power unit beneath a removable engine cover.

In recent years, LEGO has been steadily expanding its Formula 1 presence, reflecting the sport’s massive global popularity. The AMR26 set confirms that trend.

Supercars and icons across the range

Beyond the headline models, the Technic summer lineup also includes several well-known automotive icons. Among them is the track-focused Ferrari 488 Pista, a lightweight evolution of the 488 GTB inspired directly by Ferrari’s motorsport experience.

Another notable addition is the Dodge Viper GTS‑R, a machine that achieved remarkable success in endurance racing, including victories in GT championships and strong performances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The line-up also expands beyond cars. A Ducati Desmo 450 MX joins the Technic motorcycle series, while fans of cinematic vehicles can build the legendary Batmobile Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s Batman films. Interestingly, the Tumbler will reportedly be remote controlled, which explains its unusually high price relative to the number of pieces.

Even Bugatti returns in a new colour

Not every set is entirely new. LEGO is also releasing a green version of the Technic Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, offering a new colour variant of the earlier orange model.

The model includes the signature W16 engine, opening doors and bonnet, and working steering, a reminder of how far Technic engineering has evolved in recent years. It even integrates with the racing game Asphalt Legends, unlocking a digital version of the car.

AutoNext Take

In many ways, LEGO Technic has become a miniature museum of automotive culture. Hypercars, racing legends, movie icons and motorcycles all coexist in the same mechanical ecosystem.

From a Koenigsegg hypercar to Fast & Furious classics and a Formula 1 machine, the message is clear: the passion for cars does not stop when the engine turns off. Sometimes it simply starts with a box of bricks.
