Buy the i5 if you want an executive saloon that quietly does everything the petrol 5 Series does, then layers effortless electric smoothness on top. It is the sweet spot of the electric range for me: big enough to feel special, sensible enough to use every single day, and genuinely rewarding to drive on a good road rather than just comfortable. The range is strong enough for real business mileage, and the cabin strikes a nicer balance of screen and substance than the larger cars manage. The M60 version adds proper pace if you crave it, but even the entry car feels complete.
