Nobody really needs a car this focused, and that is exactly why I love the M2. It is the last of the small, angry, rear-drive BMWs, short in the wheelbase and endlessly playful once you learn to trust it. The straight-six pulls hard, the chassis talks to you constantly, and specced with the manual it feels like a proper old-school coupe. If you can live with the firm ride and the tight back seats, few cars give you more grin per euro.
