There is a reason the Duster has quietly become one of Europe's favourite SUVs, and it has nothing to do with fashion. It is tough, cheap to buy and cheap to run, and in four-wheel-drive form it will happily go places that shame cars costing three times as much. Do not expect hushed motorways or a posh interior, because that was never the deal; the deal is rugged, no-nonsense ability at a price that actually makes sense. If you camp, tow, live down a rough lane, or simply want a car that shrugs off abuse, this is the honest workhorse to have.
