Tweedehands Ford Galaxy

Henry Ford did not invent the car, but in 1908 he invented the car for everyone. The Model T and the moving assembly line that built it cut the price of motoring so far that Ford's own workers could afford one, and by 1920 half the cars on Earth were Fords.

In Europe, Ford became a home-grown brand with its own icons: the Cortina, the Escort that ruled rallying, the Capri, the Fiesta that Belgium built in Genk, and the Focus whose handling embarrassed cars twice its price. The Mustang and the GT40 that beat Ferrari at Le Mans supplied the glamour.

Today Ford of Europe has bet on the Puma, Kuga and Explorer, the electric Mustang Mach-E and Capri, and the Transit family that still dominates the commercial market, with the Ranger and Bronco for the adventurous. The Fiesta and Focus are gone; the blue oval's job of making driving affordable and enjoyable is not.
