Tweedehands Jeep Cherokee

The Jeep was born in 1941 from a US Army request for a light reconnaissance vehicle, designed in 49 days and built by Willys and Ford by the hundreds of thousands. It helped win a war, and when the soldiers came home, the civilian CJ let them keep driving it.

The 1963 Wagoneer arguably invented the luxury SUV, the 1984 Cherokee invented the compact one, and the Wrangler kept the original's flat grille and fold-down windscreen alive through every change of owner, from Kaiser to AMC to Chrysler, Fiat and now Stellantis.

Today Jeep's European range runs from the Avenger, the brand's first electric car and a European Car of the Year, through the Compass and the Renegade to the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, with 4xe plug-in hybrids across the line. Seventy-five years on, the seven-slot grille still means the same thing: go anywhere.
