The Peugeot family was making saw blades, coffee grinders and bicycles in the Doubs long before Armand Peugeot built his first car in 1889. That makes Peugeot the oldest car brand still in continuous production, and the lion on the badge, first stamped on its steel in 1847, the oldest logo in the business.

The 205 saved the company in 1983 and its GTI version became the definitive hot hatch of the decade, while the 205 T16 and 405 conquered Group B and the Dakar. The 405, 306 and 406 gave Peugeot a reputation for ride and handling that its German rivals quietly envied.

Today Peugeot is the design leader inside Stellantis, with the i-Cockpit, the claw-mark lighting and a range that runs from the 208 and 2008 to the 308, 3008, 408 and 5008, nearly all of it available as E-Peugeot electric. Allure is the word the brand uses, and for once the cars back it up.
