The Koleos was Renault's flagship SUV in Europe until the new Espace took its place in 2023, and as a used buy it gives you a lot of space for your money. Target the facelift that arrived at the end of 2019: the Blue dCi 150 drives the front wheels, the Blue dCi 190 adds All Mode 4x4-i four-wheel drive, and both come with the X-Tronic CVT automatic. It is strictly a five-seater, so it is not the car for families who need a third row. The CVT prefers a relaxed pace to hard acceleration, so on the test drive check that it pulls smoothly without slipping or shuddering, and ask whether its fluid has been changed. Buy one if you want a comfortable, roomy five-seat SUV with a diesel that is happiest on long motorway trips.
