The new Volkswagen ID. Polo GTI is the first fully electric model in the 50-year history of the GTI badge. It produces 166 kW, or 226 PS, sends its power to the front wheels, uses an electronically controlled front differential lock as standard and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Pre-sales in Germany start this autumn, with pricing expected at just under €39,000.

Revealed at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the Vision BMW ALPINA previews the future of ALPINA as a fully integrated BMW Group brand. It is a long, elegant, four-seat grand tourer with a V8 engine, classic ALPINA design references, a shark-nose front end and a clear strategic purpose: to fill the space between BMW’s most expensive luxury models and Rolls-Royce.

The new Bentley Bentayga EWB Chalet Edition is a Mulliner creation developed in collaboration with The Gstaad Guy, the social media personality known for satirising ultra-wealthy Alpine life with just enough accuracy to make the joke feel expensive. The Tesla Model S is dead. So is the Model X. Tesla has officially ended production of both models at its Fremont factory in California, closing the book on two cars that helped move electric vehicles from niche curiosity to mainstream ambition. The Model S ran for 14 years, while the Model X lasted 11 years.

Lamborghini clearly sees the United Kingdom as more than just another export market. The brand has officially inaugurated a new showroom in Poole, Dorset, marking its 13th dealership in the UK. The opening was attended by Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, and reinforces the UK’s position as one of Lamborghini’s top global markets.

The Dutch automotive retail group Van Mossel has agreed to acquire Porsche Centre Perth and Porsche Centre Aberdeen from Peter Vardy Group, adding two Porsche Centres and two Porsche Service Centres in Scotland to its growing international network. Completion is expected in the coming weeks, subject to approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority.

Half a century after the original Golf GTI helped define the hot hatch segment, Volkswagen is using the Green Hell to show what GTI means in an electric future.

To celebrate its 130th anniversary, the German tuner has revealed the ABT CUPRA Formentor VZ5 635, a special edition limited to just 30 units worldwide. That number is part tribute, part statement: 130 years of ABT compressed into 30 cars that will never exist in this form again. The base car was already special.

The upgraded Polestar 3 now moves to an 800V electrical architecture, gains new batteries, new motors, faster charging, more computing power and a new range structure. The result is a flagship electric SUV that finally looks much sharper on paper, with DC fast charging up to 350 kW, a 10 to 80% charge in as little as 22 minutes, and a new Performance version producing 680 PS and 870 Nm.
